Steve Bingley is well known to friends and family as Mr Fix-it. He spent his youth pulling things apart and rebuilding them to see how they worked. Steve started his working life in the automotive industry and had great success in the rebuilding, renovating and refinishing of vehicles. He owned his own small business called ‘Mr Fix-It’ and was highly regarded as someone who looked after his customers, no matter how small or large the job might be. His passion has always been in small motor mechanics – things most people throw away. Steve loves to bring objects back to life. He hates seeing things dying in paddocks and being thrown on the rubbish heap. Toni, in their 21 years of marriage, has seen Steve save countless mechanical lives – tractors, vehicles, lawnmowers and many electrical and mechanical appliances. Steve has his automotive welding ticket and is one of those rare, old fashioned, ‘fix anything’ types. He is excited to be offering his abilities through TLC Services, doing work that he loves.
Toni Bingley has always had a penchant for mechanics and as a teen she fixed her own cars rather than heading to a workshop. When she left school, she did night classes in auto mechanics and worked in vehicle sales through the day. Ever since then, she has regularly been found with her head under a bonnet or rebuilding an old trail-bike. Toni owned her own gardening business for eight years, contracting to clients with all sizes of gardens – from small ones to large commercial ones. She also worked as a contractor for Franklin Council. She understands the necessity of reliable and strong equipment. She has worked on dairy farms and her work there included farm management, raising calves and operating machinery and tractors. Her involvement in horticulture has included work in orchid houses and orchards around the country. She has a broad knowledge of a number of industries and has spent many years in sales and marketing. Involved in the community, she is the face of Go Carterton and contributes to the Carterton Crier each month. She is proud to be part of the TLC brand.
